'Absorption' - Series 2

When confronted by a scene, our vision moves out in to the land searching for things that we know or are fond of, touching them, scanning their surfaces and exploring their texture. Through the world roams this glance, directed by attention, constantly in motion, moving from one object to the next. ‘Absorption’ therefore, looks at this eminently active performance when you engage or become entranced by what you see. By photographing a scene then overlaying objects that grab my attention I want to show how our vision works as well as how perceptions build up through amalgamation and combination. This was a conscious effort to involve the viewer, holding their attention for as long as possible.
